It was said that there will be no lectures during the election day due to past experience. “With our past experience of election days, and in view of heightened tension between parties contesting the elections this year, we are also suspending lectures and assessments on SRC Election day (Thursday 11 October 2018). The noise levels and mobilization of students by party agents are unlikely to lead to conditions conducive to teaching and learning on this day, as in the past. We do regret losing another day of the academic programme but we believe this to be in the best interest of the university community” said the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Venda, Prof. J.E. Crafford
The ANC is hoping for a positive support ahead of the 2019 general elections as support declined massively during the local government elections on August 3, 2016.
